DIY Watermelon Notebook

Updated: Dec 24, 2018

What you will need:

  • A standard notebook or any flat, three ringed binder (the notebooks cost about a 50 cents)

  • Watercolors, and a small paintbrush

  • One piece of Water color paper

  • Black sharpie or  black permanent marker

  • Light green stretchy elastic or cord

  • Packing tape

Directions:

  1. Paint hot pink layers in water-color on your water-color paper, but leave one quarter blank (for the green)

  2. Paint green layers coming from the opposite side. Let dry.

  3. In the meantime,  hole punch two holes through the  back cover of the notebook towards the edge ( if you are using a binder you don’t need to do this. Skip this step.)  cut a somewhat long peice of the green cord. you want it long enough so that you can use it as a closing strap or a bookmark. Put both the ends of the green cord through both small holes. Then tie a knot in the inside cover and tape over it.

By now the water-color painting should be almost dry. Wait for it to dry completely, then draw small black tear drops on the pink part with the round edge of the teardrop facing the green.

  1. Tape or glue the watermelon watercolor cover onto the cover of the notebook or if you have a binder slip, slip it into the clear cover.

  2. Enjoy!
